Clementina V. Durkes

Siasconset. Clement and her husband Rick had their honeymoon on Nantucket 45 years ago. They bought their home in Sconset in 1996 enjoying 20 summers with their two daughters before deciding to move here permanently in 2016. Clement is a 1973 honors graduate of Northwestern University with a BA in Art History. She followed that interest by volunteering in the Education Department at the Art Institute of Chicago from 2006 to 2016. Another interest in early childhood education led to five years teaching preschool at St. Chrysostom’s Day School in Chicago. She joined the Women’s Board of the Lyric Opera of Chicago in 1985, served as President from 2007 to 2010 and remains a Life Member. In 1997 she joined the Metropolitan Opera Guild and is now an Emeritus Member. She currently serves as President of the Sconset Trust.
