New York/Nantucket. Bonnie has been coming regularly to Nantucket every summer since 1969. She and her late husband, Peter, enjoyed vacationing on Nantucket from the time their three children were young – it provided a time to be together as a family and away from their busy life in New York City. A Smith graduate with a degree in Art History, Bonnie has been active in several non-profits. Currently she serves on the Board, the Executive Committee, and as Chair of the Education Committee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she has worked with staff to create education programs and tours for young people and adults. She has also served as a Volunteer Education Tour Guide at the MET since 1978. Bonnie serves on the National Board of Review of Films, and on the Friends of the Nantucket Historical Association. She is a former board member of the Manhattan Theatre Club, and a former teacher in the Learning to Look program conducted in Inner City Catholic Schools in New York, and a former member of the Smith College Museum of Art Visiting Committee. Bonnie is a member of the Nantucket Yacht Club, Sankaty Head Golf Club and Nantucket Golf Club. She enjoys spending time with her three children and five grandchildren.

I’ve worked as a volunteer for the library for 10 years. I have never found a more pleasant, dedicated and professional group of people. The Atheneum and its staff are a treasure for this town.
